The study aimed to identify the degree of availability of indicators of international rankings for universities in Omani universities and its importance in improving the performance of these universities from the academics’ perspective sample study. The study participants were chosen by the stratified random method, and 9 participants were selected for the qualitative study, representing all universities through the intentional sampling method. The questionnaire was used as a tool for the quantitative study and corresponding to the qualitative study. The most prominent results were that the availability of ranking indicators was high; the highest being the axis of community service and international cooperation, and the least being the axis of education and learning. Some items within the axes had an average level; the least available items were “the existence of an appropriate budget for scientific re-search “with an average of 3.16, then “the lack of academic exchange with other universities”, as well “as the lack of commitment to international rankings indicators related to the academics’ ratio to the students’ number”.
