المجلة: International Journal of Research Publications

سنة النشر: 2024

تاريخ النشر: 2024-07-05

Benzodiazepines (BZDs), such as diazepam, and alprazolam among others, are commonly prescribed for anxiety, insomnia, and conditions of seizure. Their addictive potential remains debated. This review examines whether BZDs are inherently addictive or if addiction arises primarily from misuse. By analyzing empirical studies and theories, it becomes clear that, while BZDs have the potential for addiction, proper management and guidelines can significantly mitigate this risk. This nuanced view underscores the importance of tailored medical approaches to BZD prescriptions

Comparing Efficacy and Safety of Modified ECT vs. esKetamine for the Treatment Resistant Depression and Anxiety

This article provides a systematic comparison of the efficacy and safety of Modified Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) versus esKetamine for treating treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and anxiety disorders. TRD and anxiety are challenging to treat, leading clinicians to explore advanced options like Modified ECT and esKetamine. The review evaluates the effectiveness, safety profiles, mechanisms of action, and patient outcomes of both treatments. esKetamine is noted for its rapid onset of effects, providing significant symptom relief within hours to days, although requiring maintenance dosing. Modified ECT, with its well-documented long-term efficacy, often outperforms pharmacological treatments but is associated with cognitive side effects. Safety concerns for esKetamine include dissociative symptoms and cardiovascular effects, while ECT's risks are mitigated by modern anesthetic techniques. The distinct mechanisms of action and patient outcomes underscore the importance of personalized treatment strategies, considering individual needs and clinical contexts to optimize therapeutic benefits and minimize risks

This study conducted a thorough investigation into strategies aimed at strengthening educational support systems for children with incarcerated parents. The research explores various crucial aspects, including the level and quality of parental involvement, the provision of educational support services, collaboration initiatives, counseling programs, mentorship activities, and access to educational resources. Using carefully gathered survey data from a representative sample (N = 111, characterized by a Standard Deviation [SD] of 0 and a Mean of 1, with the majority being Female Mothers = 100%), this quantitative analysis emphasizes the importance of nurturing group dynamics, promoting mentorship programs, and ensuring the widespread availability of educational materials. The findings suggest that creating an environment that actively involves incarcerated parents in their children's education is essential for enhancing educational outcomes. This approach is recognized for its significant contributions to the rehabilitation and overall well-being of individuals in custody. The study offers detailed recommendations that provide practical pathways for implementation within judicial and educational systems, offering actionable insights for stakeholders committed to improving the educational prospects of children with incarcerated parents.
