Experimental Investigation of a Gasoline-Charged Heat Pipe Solar Water Heater

المجلة: African Journal of Advanced Pure and Applied Sciences

سنة النشر: 2023

تاريخ النشر: 2023-04-02

An experimental investigation was conducted under actual weather conditions at Higher Institute for Sciences and Technology Altmimi in Libya located at 32.24°N latitude and 23.17°E longitude. The solar complex is designed, manufactured, and assembled with the effect of thermal pipes. The thermal tube is integrated into Flat sucking absorbs heat from solar radiation and this part is considered an evaporator, the other side of the Heat tube is an intense part that is inserted into the water tank, gasoline was selected as a charged work fluid in the copper pipe due to its availability in the local market. Temperatures were measured in the assembly's absorption board and water temperature in the storage tank and instantaneous efficiency every hour. We noticed that the solar system started heating up the water when it reached a degree. The flat temperature is 80OC, which is the boiling temperature of the gasoline, and the maximum temperature of water reached Instantaneous efficiency is about 46 ° C 23% respectively .

Investigation of Corrosion Resistance of Magnesium Alloy AZ91 Immersed in Sodium Chloride Solution at Various Concentrations Utilizing the Linear Polarization Method

المجلة: Middle European Scientific Bulletin

سنة النشر: 2023

تاريخ النشر: 2023-10-05

When using the linear polarization method to calculate corrosion rates for coated and uncoated samples. Tafel plot experiments were used to calculate the values of βa and ßc used in estimating the wear rate. It was found that in uncoated and coated samples, the corrosion rate increases with increasing sodium chloride concentration. However, in the case of uncoated specimens, the increase in wear rate is more pronounced. According to the most recent findings, applying surface treatment while sodium stagnate solution is present significantly improves the AZ91 magnesium alloy's capacity to withstand corrosion. For instance, the CRs for the coated and uncoated samples are 122 mpy and 81.4 mpy, respectively, at 7 percent NaCl. Electrochemical testing shows that the surface treatment improves corrosion resistance by 33.3 percent and lowers corrosion rate by 33.3 percent.

ELECTROPLATING OF NI-CO ALLOY IN A SODIUM CITRATE BATH ON BRASS AND STUDYING SOME EFFECTS ON THE LAYER THICKNESS AND HARDNESS

A nickel sulfate solution with a Co suspension was used to electroplate Ni-Co alloy coatings onto a brass substrate. The impacts of the plating bath's pH, temperature, length of time, nanoparticle concentration, and current density on the coating's composition were examined. The best conditions were (C.D. 2A/dm2 , 55oC, 60 min, and pH 8) deposit surfaces were examined by X-ray diffraction thin film and Vickers microhardness. The surface hardness peaked at 2 A/dm2 (278 HV), which is the greatest value possible. It is evident that more cobalt is deposited as the current intensity increases, raising the bath's cobalt concentration by more than 15 g/l. According to the results, the rate of Ni-Co deposition is affected by pH, rising from 7 to 9.5 while falling Co% at pH values over 7.5. At 33 °C, the layer deposition rate was 30 mg/dm2 .min, rising to 40 mg/dm2 .min at 63 °C, then dropping to 35 mg/dm2.min as the bath temperature increased to 73 °C. Low deposition rate and temperature were observed in cathodic deposits.

EVALUATION OF CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR PIPELINES AT BREGA PETROLEUM MARKETING COMPANY IN LIBYA

المجلة: Advanced Engineering Letters

سنة النشر: 2024

تاريخ النشر: 2024-03-31

Cathodic protection (CP) is the most effective method for protecting petroleum facilities against corrosion. As part of this protection, care should be taken to continuously evaluate the existing system in order to maintain the system in favorable conditions. The subject of the paper’s research is an oil plant for the transportation of oil derivatives located at the Brega company in Tobruk, Libya. In the present work, a case study on how to evaluate the CP system for an existing company for petroleum transportation is considered. The procedure was planned in three steps. The first step is a historical survey of the CP system from when the company started. The second was a diagnostic analysis study of the problem and how to fix it along the system. The third is the conclusions and recommendations regarding the measures for evaluating the CP system without stopping production.

CFD Analysis of Spherical Capsule Flow in Horizontal Pipeline

المجلة: International Journal of Computer Engineering and Sciences Research (IJCESR)

The connotation of capsule pipelines has become increasingly common over time, the idea of hydraulic capsule pipeline (HCP), but still a new study and there is relatively little research and study in this area. It was therefore, selected as the focus of this research. For the aims of this study, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was used. CFD is a useful tool for the analysis of pipe flow problems. Optimization and analysis of the capsule may be performed by problems such as FLUENT CFD packages. The behaviour of a drop in pressure of three, trains-capsule was studied under the effect of various bulk speed and an altered diameter of the capsule. The results obtained from the study concluded that the pressure drop in a tube increases as the concentration increases the size and capsules. Using the results obtained from CFD, a mathematical relationship has been derived from the pressure drop in a capsule transport hydraulic line. The correlation is consistent with experimental data and the theory. In addition, an effective method to optimize the tubes which carry the capsule has developed along the correlation with the pressure drop at constant density spherical capsule train in a hydraulic. There are several recommendations for further studies and research from both CFD and experimental analysis of flow problems of the capsule
