Abstract Background Black fungus (mycoses) is an opportunistic invasive infection that predominantly occurred among immunosuppressed persons. It has been recently detected in COVID-19 patients. The pregnant diabetic woman is susceptible to such infections and needs recognition for protection. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the nurse-led intervention on the knowledge and preventive practice of diabetic pregnant women regarding fungal mycosis during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method This quasi-experimental study was conducted at maternal health care centers in Shebin El-Kom, Menoufia Governorate, Egypt. The study recruited 73 diabetic pregnant women through a systematic random sampling of pregnant women attending the maternity clinic during the period of the study. A structured interview questionnaire was used to measure their knowledge regarding Mucormycosis and COVID-19 manifestations. The preventive practices were assessed through an observational checklist of hygienic practice, insulin administration, and blood glucose monitoring for the prevention of Mucormycosis infection. Results The study revealed a statistically significant increment in the participants’ knowledge, preventive practice, personal hygiene, and diabetes self-care scores (9.56 ± 1.75 ,3.6 ± 1.18, 3.18 ± 1.29 post-intervention) comparable to (6.19 ± 1.66, 1.97 ± 1.35, 0.89 ± 1.38 pre-intervention) respectively. There was a significant improvement in the overall COVID-19 protective score against Mucormycosis (from 2.66 ± 1.74 to 4.53 ± 1.43). Conclusion Nursing educational sessions had a positive effect on pregnant women’s awareness and preventive behavior. Hence, it is recommended to integrate nurse-led intervention targeting the preventive practice against COVID-19-associated Mucormycosis infection (CAM) as routine services for diabetic pregnant women during antenatal care. ABSTRACT Stem cells research and associated therapies are advancing remarkably. The potential to separate stem cells from menstrual blood has created a new avenue in stem cells research that may one day provide mankind with therapeutic advantages. Aim: The current study aimed to examine the effect of jigsaw teaching strategy on internship nursing students’ health literacy regarding menstrual blood banking. Methods: A quasi-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest) was adopted. A convenience sample of 100 internship nursing students were recruited. Data were collected using two tools: structured self-administered questionnaire and menstrual blood banking attitude assessment scale. Results: Study findings revealed that, pre-intervention the mean knowledge score was 7.70±2.40 while at post-intervention it was significantly increased to 12.2±2.02 (p= 0.02). Concerning attitude, only 6.0% of students expressed positive attitude regarding menstrual blood banking pre-intervention as compared to 78.0% of them post-intervention (p<0.001). The current study declared that, there was a statistically significant correlation between knowledge and attitude at post-intervention (p =0.003). Conclusion: jigsaw teaching strategy had a significant positive impact on internship nursing students’ health literacy towards menstrual blood banking. Recommendation: Utilization of such teaching strategy should be encouraged to improve health literacy among internship nursing students. Key words: Jigsaw teaching strategy, internship nursing students, health literacy, menstrual blood banking.

It is a communication approach as well as healthcare before providing any additional details, the professional provides the details and then encourages the individual in question to respond and confirm their understanding. Aim: It was to assess the impact of teach back based self-care program on postpartum health-related quality of life (QoL) among primiparous women. Methods: The current study was conducted using a quasi-experimental research methodology (Pre-Posttest). Setting: This research was applied at the post-natal follow-up clinics and the well-baby clinics of Maternal and Child Health Center in Shebin Elkoom, Menofyia Governorate Sample: Based on the sample calculation, a purposive sample of 60 women was selected. Instruments: For data collection, two instruments were used: (1) a structured interviewing questionnaire and (2) a health-related QoL questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF). Results: There was a significant difference between pre and post intervention stages as regard to physical, psychological, personal and environment domains of studied women. Higher health-related QoL scores revealed significant changes between pre- and post-implementation of a teach back-based self-care program. Conclusion: The current study found a significant increase in postpartum health-related QoL after the application of teach-back based self-care program. The current findings allow the first study hypothesis to be accepted. Recommendations: Reinforce using teach-back based self-care program as a portion of routine postpartum care. Replication of the study with larger sample from different settings to advance testing different determinants of health related QoL.
