Mineral content of Marhabaib (Cymbopogon) leaves and spikes

The study was aimed to determine the mineral content of folk medicine herb which widely used in alternative medicine in Sudan the mineral content was determined via using of Inductively couple plasma optical emissions Spectrometer and it was found to be rich with many nutritional elements such as Ca, K, Mg, Na and was found to contain Considerable amount of Iodide as major constituent.

The study aimed to determine the chemical composition of essential oil of folk medicine hearb in Sudan which locally known as Marhabib , the extraction essentials oils was extracted via hydrodistillation and the constituents of it was determine via using of GC/MS instrument the oils were found to be rich with may organic compounds and most of them are trepens with thier different types.
